- You can send mail in any of the mailboxes.
- The red bricks laid in the ground as you enter are meant to make you feel like you are on a red carpet. -- The gas lamps that line Main Street are real and over 150 years old. Walt bought them for 3 cents a bundle back in the day.
-- The cannons on Main Street were bought from France and were placed to honor those who serve. They have never been fired. They are from the 1700s.
-When Walt would visit the park, he would turn the lamp on in the firehouse window where his apartment was. Now, the light in Walt’s is always on, showing that he is always with us in the park.
- When Walt would leave the apartment in the firehouse, he would actually use the fire pole to slide down, until one day when one young guest tried to climb it and it had to be sealed off.
- In the Baby Center, there is a photo of baby Walt Disney.
- In Center Street (by the lockers) there is a test wall where Imagineers tested two different types of bricks. This wall has been left since Imagineers tested it.
- The windows in the back of Center Street will sometimes open up to sell ice cream.
- If you sit in Center Street and listen, you may hear the citizens of Center Street talking to each other.
- ‘Smeltzers’ are used to pump out the smells of Main Street food. Disney invented two new colors so certain objects would fade into the background: ‘noseeum grey’ and ‘ goaway green’.
- Rumor has it that Walt had a trash can placed 25 steps away from the hot dog cart because that was how long it took him to eat one. This rule is still followed today.
- When Disneyland first opened they had mesh waste baskets that caused many problems so Walt went to many trash can companies asking him to make ones that guests couldn't see, couldn't smell, and would hold liquid. Only one company said they would try to make one and Walt told them if he liked it, they would have a contract forever. They created the design we love and know today and the Disney company still honors their promise.
- The Palm Parlor used to be a lingerie shop called “Wizard of Bras.”
- The giant penny outside of the Penny Arcade is dated 1901 for Walt's birthday
- The Mickey flowers out front are changed 7-8 times a year and is one of the most photographed places in the WORLD.
